AKC Miniature Poodles | Pennsylvania & Maryland

Specializing in healthy & happy purebred AKC Miniature Poodles in a rainbow of colors.

  •    That is Millie and her first litter of Miniature Poodles, along with our 3 children. We fell in love with the process of breeding healthy, happy puppies and are excited to share the joy with more families.

  • We are an in home breeder and our dogs and their puppies are raised as a part of our family. Our dogs are genetically health tested which allows us to best avoid passing along preventable genetic diseases. Our puppies receive training & socialization while they are with us, giving them the best start towards becoming exceptional family pets.

  •  Our puppies are raised on an advanced curriculum implementing 10 step handling, ENS & ESI  beginning on day 3 of life. Our curriculum involves intentional daily handling and exposing puppies to new stimuli including scents, sights, sounds, textures, people & places during their critical socialization period. Our puppies also receive regular baths, blow dries, nail trims and sanitary trims - which helps to desensitize and get them accustomed to a lifetime of grooming.

  • We implement early potty training techniques beginning in the whelping box as early as 3 weeks old. This significantly helps with potty training your new puppy upon bringing them home with ease.

  • We promise to never sell our puppies to a pet store or wholesalers. We will never relinquish our puppies to a shelter or rescue, and we require our adoptive families to promise to never relinquish their puppy to a shelter or rescue at any time. Instead, we will take back any dog we bred, at any time - for any reason, or assist in finding them a new home. Our puppies are sold on a  spay/neuter - no breeding contract.

  • Sound Desensitization involves playing scary sounds such as fireworks and sirens for the puppies while they play and eat. This is very effective at desensitizing them to these sounds so they do not become anxious or scared when these noises are present throughout their life.

  • ENS (Early Neurological Stimulation) involves handling the puppies one at a time while performing a series of five specific exercises. The US Military developed this method designed to improve the performance of future military working dogs. ENS is believed to impact the neurological system by kicking it into action earlier than would be normally expected. Benefits of ENS include improved cardiovascular performance,  stronger heart beats, stronger adrenal glands, more tolerance to stress, and greater resistance to disease. In tests of learning, ENS stimulated pups were more active and exploratory than their non- stimulated littermates.

  • ESI (Early Scent Introduction) A pungent scent is introduced to the puppy each day for short intervals. The benefits of ESI have been studied in a seven-year breeding test. Gayle Watson PhD conducted the test with Gaylan’s Golden Retriever litters. The results were incredible. They found the dogs that had been involved in ESI had more total scenting titles. Along with the titles were earned in more complex scenting categories. Another amazing fact that came from the research was that the dogs were achieving these titles two and a half to five years younger than the non ESI pups. So what does all of this mean for our pups? Many times with companion, therapy, and early service dog training - the dogs scent abilities are a high characteristic that is required for the dog to have. For example, autistic children have the tendency to bolt or run away; therefore having a dog that is able to follow the scent and locate the child could sometimes be a matter of life or death. Letting an elderly, blind, or other special needs person know that something may have been left on the stove, or even a gas leak, early enough for safety issues - once again may save a life. Alert dogs are trained to detect low or high blood sugar, or seizures by the smells in the air. All of this and more is possible and significantly enhanced by conducting ESI.
